Mr. Fritschi started his speech before the Expats Club Pattaya:

“When I bought a huge plot of land 9 years ago in Huai Yai (15 kilometers outside Pattaya) it was incredibly cheap, but very empty, very vaste. After I built my house, I started planting all kind of plants, first near the house, then expanding to the edges of my total 7 rai plot. There was no plan initially to create my own botanical garden, but that is what I am actually doing right now. I hope to officially open my Discovery Garden in about a year or so to the public, but in the meantime I receive visitors free of charge today already and show them around, if they contact me beforehand.”

Besides mentioning many rare plants grown at Discovery Garden, the speaker at Expats Club especially talked about the soursop (graviola) and cocoa trees on the premises. Chocolate made in Thailand (with Swiss finishing) will soon be produced in Pattaya.
