Tasty Inca peanuts grown in Thailand

We grow Plukenetia volubilis, also known as sacha inchi, sacha peanut, mountain peanut or Inca peanut in our Discovery Garden outlets in Nong Khai and Pattaya. We offer Plukenetia volubilis seedlings and seeds for sale in Thailand and Laos. Inca peanuts are easy to grow from seeds, have a high yield and are very healthy.

First I planted 20 very expensive Plukenetia volubilis seeds in Pattaya which I had acquired through the Thai internet. The germination rate was with 100 percent very high.

It was a matter of days rather than weeks until my Plukenetia volubilis seeds in Thailand took off.

My new Inca peanuts in Pattaya were not being held back by gravitation.

Soon those montain peanut seedlings have to be repotted

The sacha inchi seedlings in Pattaya (Thailand) climbed up around a big bamboo stick.

High and higher those Inca peanuts were climbing

The formed clusters of male and female Plukenetia volubilis flowers.

The male flowers pollinate the female flowers and the Plukenetia volubilis fruit starts tow grow.

They are green first, containing 4 to 6 Inca peanut seeds.

When the Inca peanuts ripen they turn brown and can be harvested.

Now the brown seed pots of Inca inchi can be harvested

You can harvest about 100 seed pods every two months.

That amounts to about 3000 Plukenetia volubilis seeds per year and plant

You can either grow more Inca peanut seedlings or eat the nuts.

Thos Inca peanuts have to be peeled and roasted.

The cycle closes.

Now you are ready to plant more Plukenetia incha seeds or eat the roasted nuts.

Again, plukenetia volubilis seeds will germinate in great nuber.

    • Lieber Herr Ludwig,

      Alles Gute

      Hans Fritschi
