I saw my first cannonball tree (Couroupita  guianensis) not in Thailand or Laos, but lately I stumble over this fascinating tree all over. And I have bought four large cannonball trees for Discovery Garden Pattaya. We can also supply big cannonball trees all over Thailand, but they are not cheap.

You need very fresh cocoa seeds if you want to grow your own chocolate in your Thai or Lao garden. At Discovery Garden outlets in Pattaya and Nong Khai we have fresh cocoa seeds for sale.

You only need a few cocoa seeds if you want to grow your own chocolate in Thailand

When I first tried to grow cocoa in Pattaya and Nong Khai I first dried my fresh seeds carefully in the sun and thus killed them for good. Once cocoa seeds are out of their protective seed pods, they have to be planted fresh as soon as possible, since they can only germinate within the first 14 days.

After germination the seedlings and plants have to be kept in a shaded location. Coco plants grown from seeds typically bear first fruits after 3 to 4 years.

Soursop (Annona muricata) can easily be grown from seeds all over Thailand. The problem is to get really fresh seeds. And it can take a long time until you can harvest the first Graviola fruits. At Discovery Garden Pattaya we have fresh soursop seeds and seedlings for sale, but we also offer mature and marcotted trees that will typically bear graviola fruits within a year.
